- Building Performance Evaluations
We are a New England based Energy Efficiency team with a focus on building envelope air sealing. We help home owners, developers, and builders improve the performance of their homes and will guarantee that any Passive House, ENERGY STAR®, LEED, or Net Zero air flow requirements will be met consistently and more cost effectively than traditional air sealing methods.
About Us
How do we do it?
In 2018, AeroBarrier had come to market and the team at SealTight immediately saw the advantage to the construction process this system would bring. Whether your dealing with, single family residential builds, multi-family compartmentalization needs, or commercial applications, we are able to dial in any specific air flow requirement from standard building code compliance down to sub Passive House rates.
In addition to AeroBarrier, we also perform:
- Blower Door Testing and Duct Leakage Testing in accordance with IECC code requirements throughout the New England area and now required in Rhode Island as of Feb.1 2022
- BPI certified Energy Audit Provider
- RESCheck compliance documentation
- Building Performance Diagnostics
- Energy efficiency consultation & design services
AeroBarrier
How is it done?
A waterborne acrylic sealant is aerosolized and applied to a pressurized building envelope. As the air flow escapes, the sealant is carried into the leaking joints where it collects and forms a seal.
This process is monitored in real time so any specific CFM or ACH target level can be dialed in. The sealant is Ultra-Low VOC and UL GREENGUARD Gold certified. This means it can be used in any building and has no off-gassing.
Key Benefits
- Most economical to install at rough in or drywall stage of construction but can be applied to unoccupied, finished spaces.
- Will not stick to vertical surfaces.
- Ultra-Low VOC with no off-gassing means construction can resume same day as application.
- In Multi-family builds, you will easily achieve compartmentalization needs reducing noise transmission, odor transfer, pest migration and maximize unit climate control.
- ACH and CFM rates are monitored and recorded in real time for verification and code compliance needs.
- Completed in one Sealing Application
